Madarasa demands ‘virginity certificate’ from 13-year-old student

  • Shocking incident at madarasa in Moradabad (Uttar Pradesh)

  • Girl expelled after parents refuse to provide the certificate

Moradabad (Uttar Pradesh) – In a shocking and disgraceful incident, a madarasa in Moradabad has reportedly demanded a virginity certificate from a 13-year-old girl. When the parents refused to submit the medical report, the girl was expelled from the madarasa and sent home with a school-leaving certificate. The madarasa also failed to refund the admission fee of ₹35,000 taken earlier. Police have begun an investigation into the matter.

According to the complaint filed by the girl’s father from Chandigarh with Moradabad Senior Superintendent of Police Satpal Antil, his 13-year-old daughter was studying at a madarasa in Lodhipur. In 2024, she was admitted to Class VII and was due to be promoted to Class VIII this year. During this time, the girl had gone home on 16 July for a few days.

When the parents brought her back to the madarasa on 21 August, the principal and the admissions officer refused re-admission. They told the mother to conduct a medical test and submit a certificate of virginity. When the girl’s mother objected to this obscene demand, the madarasa staff abused the family verbally. Soon after, the authorities issued a school-leaving certificate and expelled the girl from the madarasa.

Will the so-called feminists, progressives, and human rights organisations speak up about this atrocity, or will they remain conveniently silent as usual ?
