Mumbai – During his visit to Mumbai, Pandit Dhirendra Krishna Shastri of Bageshwar Dham announced that he would undertake a padyatra (march) from Delhi to Vrindavan from 7 to 16 November for the cause of establishing a Hindu Rashtra. He visited Shri Siddhivinayak Temple and prayed for India to become a Hindu Rashtra.

“This Hindu Rashtra will come into being through the efforts of Hindus themselves,” he said. He further stated, “Do not give space to the mentality of ‘Sar tan se juda’ (beheading); neither society nor the Constitution permits it.”

He also mentioned that he would soon be visiting Bengal for a kathavachan (spiritual discourse). Earlier, the Trinamool Congress Government in Bengal had denied him permission for such a programme citing floods as the reason. At that time, Pandit Shastri had declared that he would not visit Bengal as long as Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee remained in power. He also warned that love jihad must be stopped in India.
