2 sub-inspectors suspended for dereliction of duty, action taken against police station chief

Betul (Madhya Pradesh) – Shishupal Yadav, a district pracharak of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), was attacked by Muslims in Multai area, creating tension here. The police have arrested 5 Muslims in connection with the case.

Superintendent of Police Virendra Jain said that due to the delay in taking action, 2 sub-inspectors have been suspended and action has also been taken against Multai police station in-charge Devkaran Deharia.

1. Shishupal Yadav was riding a two-wheeler for work. At that time, one of the accused deliberately hit his bike. An argument ensued leading to a scuffle. Yadav sustained minor injuries.

2. As the news of the incident spread, there was chaos in the city. A large number of people from the Hindu community took to the streets, while on the other hand, people from the Muslim community also came together. The two groups gathered at Gandhi Chowk, bus stand and the main market area and raised slogans. There were clashes in some places.

3.  As soon as the information about the incident was received, a large police force including the District Collector, Superintendent of Police, Sub-Divisional Officer reached the spot. Additional forces have been deployed to prevent the situation getting out of hand.
