Members of devout Hindu organisations submitting memorandum to District Collector

Nandurbar, Maharashtra – All devout Hindu organisations in Nandurbar have demanded inquiry into the criminal acts of retired senior Police Officer Rakesh Maria. A memorandum to this effect was submitted to the State -Chief- Minister, and Home Minister through the medium of district collector. The memorandum was submitted by a few devout Hindu activists viz. Mr Mayur Chaudhari, Mr Sumit Pardeshi, Mr Jayesh Bhoi, Mr Bhushan Patil, Mr Chetan Gawali, Ms Ashlesha Pawar, Ms Bhavana Kadam and Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS)’s Rahul Marathe. The memorandum was signed by more than 150 citizens.

1. Sunil Mane, a close associate of Rakesh Maria has been suspended from duty in the case of Antilia explosives which maligned the image of Maharashtra Home Ministry  and then, Mansukh Hiren murder case. In the verdict passed by the court in Malegaon bomb blast case, it has criticised the anti-terrorist squad of which Sunil Mane was a part. He is accused of brutally persecuting accused in Mumbai local bomb blast case of 2006.

2. There was a serious allegation made against Rakesh Maria by Nagori and Khandelwal, the first accused nabbed in Dabholkar murder case that they were offered Rs 25 lakhs for giving false evidence. The Central Bureau of Investigation had stated that the Mumbai anti-terrorist squad had prepared a false forensic report and there was proof of involvement of Sunil Mane for unofficially joining the investigations and trying to implicate innocent people.

3. In 2009, Rakesh Maria had claimed in a press conference that a pistol was found on an activist at Nashik but in the chargesheet  filed later, there was no reference about him ; therefore, it was exposed that the Police took an innocent person into custody.
