Congress leader Asad Khan Jilani arrested for calling Bharat Mata a ‘witch’

Vidisha (Madhya Pradesh) – Congress leader Asad Khan Jilani from Sironj in Vidisha district has been arrested by the police for making derogatory remarks about Bharat Mata. Referring to the commemorative coin issued on the centenary of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Jilani had called Bharat Mata a ‘witch’ in a Facebook post. He had further written, “Worship this witch’s ghost. The one who doesn’t hold the tricolour is not our Bharat Mata.”

After receiving several complaints, the police arrested Jilani. Before his arrest, locals also burnt his effigy. Following his arrest, a video surfaced showing Jilani holding his ears and chanting ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’, with police officers present at the scene.
