Pakistan announces award for Mohsin Naqvi, who ‘snatched away’ Asia Cricket Cup from India !

Asia Cricket Council (ACC) President Mohsin Naqvi to be honoured with the “Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Excellence Gold Medal”

Mohsin Naqvi

Islamabad (Pakistan) – Last month, the Indian cricket team defeated Pakistan and won the Asia Cup; however, the team refused to accept the trophy from Mohsin Naqvi, the Pakistani President of the Asia Cricket Council (ACC). Following this, Naqvi took the trophy and all the medals meant for the winning Indian team along with him. Because of this, he was mocked and labeled as the “trophy thief.”

Earlier, Naqvi had also protested to the International Cricket Council (ICC) against the alleged misconduct of a match official. While he was being ridiculed globally for both incidents, Pakistan has now decided to honor him with the “Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Excellence Gold Medal.”

Social media users are saying that through this, the Pakistani government has made a mockery of itself.

Although the date for Naqvi’s “honor ceremony” has not been finalized, it is expected to be held in Karachi. Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will reportedly attend the event as the chief guest.

Editorial Perspective

Who else but Pakistan would honor Naqvi – the man who made anti-India bias a model at the international level ? This move clearly exposes Pakistan’s deep-rooted hatred towards India.
