Mumbai – Against the backdrop of rising crimes against women, the Ranragini branch of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti organized state-wide programs on the occasion of Vijayadashami, including weapon worship and self-defence demonstrations. The objective was to instil courage and valour among women, empower them physically, mentally, and spiritually, and strengthen their collective resolve to fight injustice.

At Jalgaon, young women submitted a memorandum to BJP MLA Sureshmama Bhole, demanding the immediate enactment of an anti–Love Jihad law in Maharashtra. Similar memoranda are being presented to various people’s representatives across the state, informed Shri. Sunil Ghanwat, State Coordinator (Maharashtra & Chhattisgarh) of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti, through a press release. These initiatives received an enthusiastic response from women and young girls across Maharashtra, many of whom resolved to undergo self-defence training.

Ms. Pratiksha Korgaonkar of the Ranragini branch said: “Today’s woman is not helpless (abla), but a form of Goddess Durga herself. To stop the injustices and atrocities committed against women in society, we cannot rely solely on law. It is the need of the hour that every woman becomes capable of defending herself. Through self-defence training, the Ranragini branch seeks to awaken courage and valour among women. Our purpose is to build a fearless society by empowering women not only physically, but also mentally and spiritually.”
