
London (UK) – The statue of Mohandas Gandhi at Tavistock Square in London was defaced with spray paint, with vandals writing: “Gandhi, Modi and Indians are terrorists.”

The Indian High Commission expressed its displeasure, stating that the incident not only desecrates the sanctity of the statue but also strikes at the principles of non-violence and peace that Gandhi stood for.

The act, taking place just three days before the International Day of Non-Violence, is being taken seriously. The High Commission said it is working with local authorities to repair and safeguard the statue. British officials arrived at the site after being alerted, and local police have begun an investigation into the matter.
