Lucknow (Lakshmanpuri), UP – The Maulanas seem to have forgotten who is in power. They thought they could intimidate and block roads with force. We had clearly said there will be no blockade or curfew. Now, we will teach them such a lesson that their future generations will think twice before inciting riots — lashed out Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath at the Muslim community over the violence in Bareilly, which erupted over the slogan “I Love Muhammad.”
The rioters were driven away by the police using lathi-charge. So far, 8 people have been arrested, including Maulana Tauqeer Raza, President of the Ittehad-e-Millat Council, and over 60 people are being interrogated. Authorities have recovered a pistol, petrol bombs, stones, and bricks from the accused. In this violence, 22 police officers were injured. The Muslims had gathered to protest at the call of Maulana Tauqeer Raza and started rioting after the afternoon prayers.
Bulldozers Will Continue
Yogi Adityanath further said – “Earlier, rioters were honoured by inviting them to the Chief Minister’s residence, and criminals were saluted by those in power. But times have changed. The lesson we’ve taught will make future generations think twice before causing riots. Bulldozers will continue to be used against those who spread communal hatred. Anyone who incites people in the name of religion will face bulldozer action.”
