All warships for the Navy are now being built in India

Important announcement by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh

New Delhi – Defence Minister Rajnath Singh informed that all warships for the Indian Navy are being built in the country itself. India is no longer dependent on other countries for them. In his Independence Day speech, Prime Minister Modi had emphasised the importance of becoming self-reliant, especially in the defence sector. A few days ago, the Defence Minister made the above statement after commissioning two Indian-made warships, ‘INS Himgiri’ and ‘INS Udaygiri’.

The Defence Minister said that for strengthening India’s strategic autonomy, 75% of every new warship was designed locally.
