Karad (Satara District) – Senior Congress leader and former Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan’s family members have been accused of voting at multiple places.
According to BJP functionaries, Chavan’s nephew Indrajit Chavan, his wife, mother, and son allegedly had their names listed three times in the electoral rolls. Similarly, another nephew, Rahul Chavan, and his family members also appeared in the voter list at three different places. BJP leaders have alleged that all of them cast their votes at multiple booths by taking advantage of this duplication.
Raising sharp questions, BJP asked:
“Has Prithviraj Chavan’s family been winning elections for years by casting 2–3 votes each? Did Prithviraj Chavan himself approve of such malpractice?” BJP spokespersons Keshav Upadhye and Atul Bhosale have also leveled these serious allegations.
In this regard, BJP’s Karad South Taluka President Dhananjay Patil said: “In the Karad South Assembly constituency, voter registration has been done two to three times. Did Prithviraj Chavan win the 2014 and 2019 elections by securing such votes? The real ‘vote theft’ has been done by Prithviraj Chavan himself. At his residence in Patan Colony, Karad, there are 15 names registered in the voters’ list, many of whom do not even live in that house.”
Rahul Gandhi must respond! – CM Devendra Fadnavis
On this matter, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis commented: “The allegations made by BJP functionaries clearly reveal who the real vote thieves are. Rahul Gandhi must now answer this.”
