Tension in Yavat (Pune) due to an objectionable post of a religious fanatic !

Pune – On 01.08.2025, a Muslim uploaded an objectionable post on social media at Yavat in Daund Taluka. After 12 in the afternoon, the weekly bazaar at Yavat was closed. A few bikes were set on fire. The mob vandalised a mosque. Police had to burst tear gas shells to disperse the crowd. Mr Narayan Deshmukh, Yavat’s Police Inspector informed of the arrest of a person named Sayyad for posting such an objectionable matter. This person has been arrested for making his offensive post viral on the social media as reported by PI Deshmukh. This person has been posting objectionable matters on social media and stays in Sahakar Nagar in Yavat. The locals went up to his house and caused damage. The future chaos was avoided due to timely intervention by the Police; however, still there is tension in the area.

Appropriate action will be taken against the guilty in Yavat ! – CM Devendra Fadanvis

A rally was held by one MLA (Sangram Jagtap of NCP) ; therefore, one person kept it as a status on his phone. It is not proper. People from both the communities came face to face, creating tension. Don’t take law in your hands. Necessary action will be taken against the guilty after conducting inquiry.

Fanatics vandalising Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s statue recently

On the night of 26.07.2025, a fanatic vandalised a statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in Nilkantheshwar Mahadev Mandir in Yavat. On 31.07.2025, the Police informed in a press conference that Amit Papa Sayyad, a fanatic, was arrested on 30.07.2025. Later again, an objectionable post was made viral on 01.08.2025.

More than 200 Policemen patrolled in their vehicles at Yavat after the incident of arson and riots on 01.08.2025. Dy CM Ajit Pawar will soon visit the area and check the situation.

Hindu Jana-akrosh March at Yavat (Pune) to condemn denigration of the statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj

Daund (Dist Pune), 1st August 2025 – Amin Sayyad denigrated the statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in Nilkantheshwar Mandir in Yavat. Hindu Jana-akrosh Morcha took out a protest march on 31.07.2025 which was joined by alert devout Hindus; besides BJP MLA Mr Gopichand Padalkar, NCP-MLA Sangram Jagtap and ‘Vaishnav Kinnar Aakhada’ chief Jagatguru Swami Hemangi Sakhiji who addressed more than 3000 participants who joined the march. Khutbav, Kedgaon, Pargaon (S.M) Grampanchayat also protested the incident by deciding to keep the market closed on 31.07.2025. Many villages in the surrounding areas have been expressing anger over the incident.

Vandalising the statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj is an attack on Hindu Dharma, self-pride and our identity. The gang behind such acts should be traced and the most stringent action should be taken against them. Case should be filed against them under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, demanded Mr Gopichand Padalkar, BJP- MLA.

Conduct inquiry into unauthorised mosques and take action – Swami Hemangi Sakhiji

How can mosques be built illegally ? Who grants permissions for such constructions ? So many Muslims gather at a particular time and what is taught there ? All these things should be investigated by the Government administration and action should be taken, stated ‘Vaishnav Kinnar Aakhada’ chief Swami Hemangi Sakhiji while guiding the protesters.

Hindus need to unite to prevent recurring attacks on Hindu Dharma – Sangram Jagtap, NCP

Every Hindu should become alert and condemn such attacks with unity if attacks on Hindu Dharma are to be prevented. Action with unity will only prevent such incidents, appealed NCP-MLA Sangram Jagtap from Ahilyanagar.

Posting opinion on social media on an incident in Madhya Pradesh led to chaos – DyCM Ajit Pawar

Action was taken when the statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was vandalised. There was no problem even after the rally held here; but an incident occurred in Madhya Pradesh and a post was made viral on  that incident which created chaos. I want to assure people of Yavat, Daund and Pune that the situation is under control and curfew has been imposed. Don’t believe in rumours, stated Dy CM Ajit Pawar during his visit to Yavat.

Incidents of religious fanatics denigrating Deities’ idols and statues of national heroes are on the rise in Pune district because they don’t care for the law. Fanatic Muslims hurt sentiments of Hindus and patriots again and again; who will then be responsible for the outburst of Hindus’ sentiments, if it happens in future ?
