Mysuru (Karnataka) – MP Yaduveer Wadiyar has extended his support to the demand for implementing a dress code at the Shri Chamundeshwari Temple located on Chamundi Hill in Mysuru. Speaking in Mysuru, Wadiyar said, “I have always supported the dress code. People should visit religious places with reverence and devotion. It is a part of our culture.” He demanded that a dress code be enforced at the Shri Chamundeshwari Temple.

He further suggested that, on the lines of Tirupati, mobile phones should also be banned at Chamundi Hill. Recently, some people have unknowingly been recording videos of the main deity’s idol, which disturbs the sanctity of the religious site. He also demanded that appropriate laws be enacted in this regard.
Editorial Perspective“Such demands are made only because Hindus by birth have abandoned religious pride. Hindus must take note that no one makes demand for a dress code at Muslim religious places !” |
