
Raipur (Chhattisgarh) – In the investigation into the ₹2,161 crore liquor scam in State of Chhattisgarh, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has seized the house of former Excise Minister Kawasi Lakhma in Raipur, the Congress Bhavan in Sukma and the home of his son Harish Kawasi in Sukma. A total of ₹6.15 crore worth of assets have been seized. This scam occurred during the tenure of the then Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel between 2019 and 2022. Kawasi Lakhma and his son Harish are in jail because of this case. The ED clarified that this action was taken based on evidence of illegal transactions related to the liquor scam.

On the other hand, Congress media Chief Sushil Anand Shukla has termed this action of the ED a ‘political vendetta’.
