London (UK) – “I had told Prime Minister Modi that if you wish to allow Sheikh Hasina to stay in India, I won’t force you otherwise. But please ensure that she does not make statements that incite the people of Bangladesh. In response, PM Modi told me that they cannot control what happens on social media. I told him that this is a dangerous situation,” said Mohammad Yunus, Chief Advisor of the interim government of Bangladesh, while speaking at an event here.
He added, “We want good relations with India; however, Bangladesh is concerned about the spread of fake news by Indian media and misinformation on social media.” (Instead of commenting on India, Yunus should focus on protecting Hindus in his own country! – Editor)
Yunus further stated that Bangladesh has written to the Indian government demanding the extradition of Sheikh Hasina. The International Criminal Court has initiated proceedings against her. Multiple notices have been issued against her for various crimes. “We are following all due legal procedures,” he said.
Editorial PerspectiveWhat Sheikh Hasina should or should not say — how is that India’s concern ? She has every right to speak on issues relevant to her own country, and Mohammad Yunus must always keep that in mind ! |
