Ministers boycott the event

Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala) – During a Government event organised in the Raj Bhavan recently on World Environment Day in Kerala, Agriculture Minister P. Prasad and Education Minister V. Sivankutty of the Communist Alliance Government in the state objected to the display of the picture of Bharatmata on the stage and demanded its removal; however, the Governor Rajendra Arlekar did not comply with the demand hence those ministers left, boycotting the event. Agriculture Minister P. Prasad said the picture relating to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), was not acceptable.
Governor Arlekar said that Bharatmata was very important to them. She was a role model and they would not remove her.
