Revelation : Pakistan secretly buying sugar from India

Islamabad (Pakistan) – Pakistan is publicly showing acrimony with India; but is secretly buying sugar from India; said Pakistani journalist Nusrat Javed. Nusrat Javed was asked in Pakistan about recent interview of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi with American podcaster, Lex Friedman. He gave this information at the time.

Nusrat Javed further said that I have listened to Narendra Modi and have also seen the reaction of The Foreign Ministry of Pakistan. We once again spoke about Kashmir and we have been talking about in the context of trade in the last few years as well. The Pakistan government has consistently said that ‘it will not do business with India until the Kashmir issue is resolved.’ However, the fact remains that Pakistan is still buying sugar from India. This fact has been officially stated by the Shahbaz Sharif’s government in the Parliament of Pakistan. Pakistan has procured 3,140 metric tonnes of sugar from other countries between March 2024 and January 2025, parliament was informed. It is priced at $3 million. The countries from which Pakistan has procured sugar include Malaysia, Germany, Thailand, the United Arab Emirates and India. India is ranked 9^th in this list. Pakistan has procured 50 thousand metric tonnes of sugar from India and 444 metric tonnes from the United Arab Emirates.

Javed further said, “Why is the government keeping us in the dark ? Why is there talk that, ’we will not agree to the Kashmir issue until itis resolved ?’ If China and India are doing business with each other despite all the tensions, why can’t Pakistan and India ?
