Chennai – Karnataka Govt has handed over the property of Late Jayalalitha to Tamil Nadu Govt. During a case of disproportionate assets, it was revealed that she had 27.558 kg. gold ornaments, 1,116 kg, silver, 1,526-acre land related documents and Rs 2,20,000 cash. All that was seized. Now, following the order of special court in Bengaluru, this property has been handed over to Tamil Nadu Govt.

The details of the retuned property reveal, a crown made of gold and diamond, a gold sword, 11,344 silk sarees, 750 pairs of chappals, more than 12 watches, 250 shawls, 12 refrigerators, 10 TV sets, 8 VCR (video cassette recorder), 1 video camera, 4 CD players, 2 audio decks. 24 tape recorders, 1040 video cassettes, 5 steel lockers. All this had been kept in the treasury of Karnataka Vidhansaudha.

The niece and the nephew of Jayalalita had registered a case in the High Court to claim this property, which was dismissed by the Court. On the order of the Court, the process of assets transfer was carried out on 15thFebruary.

Looking at the wealth amassed through corruption by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, Late Jayalalitha, it looks appropriate that the Union Government should act against all corrupt politicians, while they are alive and seize their property.
