Mahant Gitanand Giri Maharaj, adorned with 2.25 lakh Rudrakshas, declares
Prayagraj, 14.2.2025 – “It is Sadhu’s duty to please the Divine, obtain blessings, and use them for the benefit of Sanatanis, the nation, and Dharma. All saints must unite to establish India as a Hindu Rashtra. Under the guidance of Gurus and Saints, we will work towards making India a ‘Hindu Rashtra’,” said Mahant Swami Gitanand Giri Maharaj of Shri Panchadashnam Avahan Akhada.
During the Maha Kumbha Festival, ‘Sanatan Prabhat’ met Mahant Swami Gitanand Giri Maharaj, where he expressed the above thoughts.
A life dedicated to Sanatan Dharma and rigorous penance
Mahant Gitanand Giri Maharaj was dedicated to the feet of saints in Punjab at the age of two by his parents. He had taken a vow to wear Rudraksha beads, and for the past six years, he has adorned 2.25 lakh Rudrakshas, collectively weighing 45 kg.
During Maha Kumbha Mela, ‘Sanatan Prabhat’ visited the Shri Panchadashnam Avahan Akhada camp to understand his unique spiritual practices.
Mahant Gitanand Giri Maharaj stated: “For Sanatan Dharma, its followers, and the welfare of the nation, a Sadhu must undertake penance. Pleasing the Divine through rigorous austerities and Hathayoga is the duty of saints. Naga Sadhus reside in forests, mountains, monasteries, and temples, performing intense penance for the welfare of the nation and Dharma.”
