
Prayagraj – Since the 13th of January, the world’s largest spiritual gathering—Maha Kumbha Festival — has witnessed a record-breaking 50 crore devotees taking a holy dip at the sacred Triveni Sangam by the 14th of February.
This number not only surpasses all previous Kumbha Melas but also exceeds any other gathering in the world, making it a historic event. This figure is now greater than the total population of all countries except India and China, ranking as the third-largest human congregation ever recorded.
- In 2013, the Kumbha Festival in Prayagraj saw 19 crore devotees take the holy dip.
- In 2019, the Ardh Kumbha Mela recorded 24 crore devotees.
- Now, this number has crossed 50 crore
The final holy dip of the Maha Kumbha Festival is scheduled for Mahashivaratra on 26th February, and this record-breaking count is expected to rise even further.
