Ganga water being examined daily during the Maha Kumbha

Prayagraj – More than 10 crore devotees have taken a holy bath at the ghats of the Ganga including Triveni Sangam so far. Thousands of Sadhus and Saints have also taken a bath. Devotees are offering flowers, coconuts and lamps in this water. Some Nirmalya (portion remaining after offering to God) is also being released into the Ganga. To keep Ganga clean, the administration is removing leaves, flowers and garbage from the river from time to time. Along with this, the water is also being examined daily. The Pollution Control Board is testing the water at different ghats every day. The team of ‘Ganga Sevadoot’ is removing the garbage from the Ganga from time to time.

Various techniques are being adopted to ensure that the water is always suitable for bathing. The waste from toilets is being processed immediately so that it does not settle on the lower layer of the soil. Various technologies are being used for this. The toilets are being cleaned on time. The water from the drains and sewers is being temporarily blocked so that it does not mix with the river water. This water is being processed again.
