
Bhandara – An explosion occurred at an ordnance manufacturing factory in the district, shaking the entire area. Seven people have been injured and eight have died. The death toll is likely to rise. The injured are undergoing treatment in the hospital. The explosion took place at 10:45 a.m. on January 24th. The factory building has been destroyed.
The intensity of the explosion was such that it shook houses up to 10 kilometres away. The factory was engaged in the production of ammunition.
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said, “The District Collector and Superintendent of Police are at the scene and are providing all kinds of assistance. The SDRF and Nagpur Municipal Corporation teams have also been called for rescue operations. I pay my heartfelt tributes to those who died in this. We share the grief of their families. I pray to God for the speedy recovery of the injured.”
