‘World Hindu Federation’ strongly demands at the United Nations (UN) meeting held at Geneva (Switzerland)
Geneva (Switzerland) – Deepan Mitra, European President of the World Hindu Federation, participated in the 17thSession of the United Nations on Minority Issues held here recently. At this time, he informed the participants about the ongoing genocide of Hindus in Bangladesh and demanded the United Nations to take measures to protect them. Mitra demanded the United Nations to immediately send a UN peacekeeping force to Bangladesh to protect the 2.8 million Hindu minority in Bangladesh. He also demanded that the international human rights organizations should condemn the atrocities on the minorities in Bangladesh and put pressure on Bangladesh in this regard. 1. The UN session was chaired by Anastasia Crikle, while the president of the United Nations Human Rights Commission, Omar Zanibar, the president of the United Nations Department of Human Rights, Volker Turk, as well as Prof. Nicholas Levrat were the co- chairman.
2. On this occasion, problems, challenges and obstacles in Bangladesh were also discussed.

Along with the ‘World Hindu Federation’, ‘Peace Foundation UK’, ‘International Secular Movement UK’, ‘Global Hindu Coalition’, ‘Sanatan Association London’, ‘Parbatta Chittagong Janamhati Samiti’, ‘Secular Movement UK’, ‘Bangladesh Christian Association’ Europe’ also presented the point about the atrocities on minorities in
Bangladesh.
4. A representative of the ‘Bangladesh Mission’ in Geneva denied that the Hindu minority in Bangladesh was being persecuted. Deepan Mitra cited reports of atrocities
on Hindus there and strongly condemned him.

In front of the ‘Broken Chair’ in Geneva, human chains and protest marches were organized by Hindutva groups against atrocities on minorities in Bangladesh. On this occasion, the area was rocked with slogans of protest. On this occasion, the speakers strongly condemned the inaction of the Bangladeshi army and administration regarding attacks on minority Hindus, vandalism of monasteries and temples.
