New Delhi – Nowadays many people get mobile phone calls informing them about a serious crime they committed and were likely to be arrested. If they wanted to escape your arrest, they had to deposit some amount in a certain bank account. In this way, the public is deceived by committing cybercrime and threatened with ‘digital arrest’. P. M. Narendra Modi spoke on this from the ‘Mann ki Baat’.
PM Modi warns against ‘digital arrest’ scams in Mann Ki Baat

He said if anyone faces such threats, every citizen should use the mantra of ‘stop, think and then act’. If they take such a step, they will get ‘digital security’. The PM said further that cyber agencies were working to respond to such cyber threats. However, citizens need awareness to protect themselves from such crimes. No investigating agency conducts such inquiry by telephone or video call. If anyone contacts you like this, please contact the helpline number ‘1930’ for assistance and report the same to the http://www.cybercrime.gov.in/ website.
