Hindus stage mid-night sit-in protest over police switching off the loudspeakers of immersion processions in Karnataka !

Hindus backtrack at 4 a.m. due to police’s stubborn stance

Bidar (Karnataka) – On the night of September 11, during the immersion procession of Shri Ganesh Idols, the police forced the Hindus to switch off the loudspeaker system. Protesting against the decision of the police, the activists of Ganesh Mandal stopped the procession of Ganesh Idols and started a sit-in protest on the road in the middle of the night. Subsequently, the Hindu demonstrators chanted ‘Jai Shri Ram’ and began singing hymns in praise of Shriram. They also raised slogans against the police. Considering the situation the police officials reached the spot, but all the discussions were futile. The police, who took a stubborn stand, did not allow the Hindus to start the loudspeaker system till 3 a.m. After this, more police convoys were sent to the spot. Police directed to take away the loudspeaker system of Ganesh Mandal and prepare for submersion of Idol. Due to this the dejected volunteers of Ganesh mandals chose to leave. The tension mellowed down at 4 a.m.

Editorial Perspective

Why does the Karnataka Police, which forced the midnight loudspeaker to be switched off, never take any action against deafening noise of Azaan that takes place at 5 a.m. every day ? The Razakari police of Karnataka should be condemned !
