Will not spare anyone who harasses minorities : Bangladesh Interim Govt assures

Dhaka (Bangladesh) – The Interim Government has assured strict and swift action on those who attacked or tormented the minorities.

1. Recently, ISKCON delegation met with the retired Brigadier General M Sakhawat Hussain, the adviser to the Interim Government. Hussain said that people of all faiths lived in harmony in Bangladesh without any discord. He assured that no one would be spared if they persecuted minorities.

2. At this meeting, an 8-point agenda was presented by the President of ISKCON Bangladesh, Satyaranjan Baroi, for the protection of minorities. Proposals from establishing vigilance branch to minority commission were included in it. Independent security for the temples was also asked for. Hussain assured support on all the proposals.

  • Not only action on the guilty, but compensation to the aggrieved Hindus is also required.
  • Hindu organisations should follow up to pressurise this Interim Government, till the guilty are punished.
