A new ‘Love Jihad’ case from Uttar Pradesh

Mathura (Uttar Pradesh) – A Muslim youth named Asif Qureshi lured a Hindu girl in a romantic relationship by faking Hindu identity with name ‘Rahul’. During the relationship, he raped the victim several times, made obscene videos and took obscene pictures of her. Later he started pressurising the Hindu girl to convert to Islam using these obscene videos and photographs. After a few days, the victim learned that Rahul’s real name was Asif Qureshi. On July 30, the victim filed a Police complaint against the accused. Based on her complaint, the Police have registered a case against the accused.
The family members of the victim have alleged that their daughter was caught in ‘Love Jihad’. On May 2, Asif Qureshi called the girl to meet and had physical relations with her. The victim said in the complaint that Asif Qureshi pressurised her to accept Islam by threatening to broadcast her obscene videos. Police are searching for the accused in this case.

The incident shows no matter how strict the anti-love jihad law is, it fails to discourage the fanatic Muslims. The Government should take such strong action against these accused that will instil fear in them. |
