Bareilly (UP) – A Muslim youth identified as Saddam had abducted a Hindu girl living in the neighbourhood by luring her into a love affair. The Police found the two and handed over the girl to her parents, while Saddam was arrested. Following this, the villagers attacked Saddam’s house, vandalised it and set it on fire. After getting the information about the attack by the villagers, the Police reached the spot and extinguished the fire. Stones were also pelted on the Police vehicle. The situation was brought under control by calling in more Police personnel. At present, Police officials have been deployed there.
