Hamas claims video is fake, but France increases security
Paris (France) – The largest sports event, the Olympic and Paralympic Games, will take place in Paris, France, from July 26 to August 11. A video of a terrorist, claiming to be a ‘Hamas soldier,’ has surfaced, threatening to turn the Paris Olympics into a bloodbath. The video, in Arabic, shows the terrorist saying, “Rivers of blood will flow at the Paris Olympics.” Experts have deemed this video fake, and Hamas leader Izzat al-Rishq also claimed it is fabricated. However, since the video’s release, France has significantly increased security around the Olympic venues. The French Government plans to deploy 35,000 police officers daily for the event, with 45,000 officers present for the opening ceremony.
In the video, the terrorist states that the streets of Paris will run red with blood and that those inviting Jews to play will have to face consequences.
Palestinian terrorists have previously attacked the Olympics
Olympic events have been targeted before. In September 1972 in Munich and in 1996 in Atlanta, Palestinian terrorists attacked during the Olympic Games, resulting in the deaths of several Israeli athletes.
Editorial Perspective
Even if the video is fake, given the history of Palestine and Hamas, an attack on the Olympics cannot be ruled out. |
