Vidisha (Madhya Pradesh) – The Christian missionaries are active here. Persons claiming to be associated with an NGO were distributing religious books of stories about Jesus. The books were named similar to Hindu religious books, but inside there were stories praising Jesus. These people overtly attempt to convert. In Layara area of Vidisha on the 19thof July, a girl arrived at the ‘Pandoch Middle School’. She introduced herself as a member of an
NGO. Thereafter she distributed book praising Jesus to the school students free of charge. The book was named ‘Pavitra Shashtra, Bhajan Sanhita and Niti Vachan’. The name of the book suggested it to be a Hindu book; but it contained stories of Jesus’ miracles. In fact, the book while praising Christianity, criticises Hindu saints. When the girl was stopped from distributing the book by the teachers; she tried to physically fight with them. She ran away when the talk turned to calling the Police.
1. The girl reportedly came from Hyderabad. Inspite of being asked several times, she did not tell her name. She claimed to be a volunteer at an NGO which distributed these free booklets. She had come with 2 other women from Bina. These women may have distributed the books in some other villages too.
2. Sanjay Lodhi, a teacher in the school, stopped the girl. He told the local press that the girl had distributed these books in the village as well, and tried to see that these books reached the poor and scheduled caste homes in large numbers. She claimed that she distributed these books free in Sagar and Itarsi as well.
3. Bajrang Dal Co-convenor Ravi Lodhi and other officials of the organisation stated that they would lodge a Police complaint in this matter. The schoolteacher had recorded a video of the incident and it was posted on social media.
Editorial Perspective
How can Christian Missionaries dare to do this, when Madhya Pradesh has a BJP Government ? If Hindu organisations had distributed Hindu religious books in a missionary school, by now the pseudo-seculars would have created a hue and cry in protest. |
