Removed the flag of Pakistan

Frankfurt (Germany) – On July 20, a group of people claimed to be Afghan nationals attacked the Pakistani consulate in Frankfurt, Germany, on Saturday. The assailants pelted stones and pulled down Pakistan’s flag, triggering widespread outrage on social media. According to Pakistan-based Geo News, the attackers, with Afghan flags wrapped around their shoulders, stormed the consulate, vandalised the premises, and replaced the Pakistani flag with the Afghan flag. Although the motive behind the attack is not yet clear, it is said to be due to Pakistan’s repatriation of Afghan refugees to Afghanistan.
Geo News also cited reports stating that the attackers also tried burning the Pakistani flag. They also pelted stones at the building, as per the Pakistani media. German police have arrested some people in this case. Pakistan has beefed up security at the German consulate in Karachi following the attack. The embassy has been temporarily closed for security reasons.
