Koppal (Karnataka) – Police had called a peace meeting at Gangavati in Koppal District to prevent any untoward incident in the town on the occasion of the Bakri Eid. When Ali Khan, a close friend of sitting MLA Gali Janardan Reddy, came forward to speak in this meeting, supporters of the former MLA Iqbal Ansari objected. Due to this, a fight broke out between the supporters of the former and current MLA. The Police intervened and controlled the situation.
Janardhan Reddy and Iqbal Ansari had criticised each other during the last assembly and Lok Sabha elections. There has been enmity between the supporters of the two leaders.
