New Delhi – The situation in Jammu and Kashmir has improved significantly. India will not have to use force to claim Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir; because the people there themselves want to become a part of India, stated Rajnath Singh, Defence Minister.
In an interview given to a news agency, Rajnath Singh said,
- The situation in Kashmir has improved and assembly elections will be held soon, but he did not disclose any dates.
- “The way the situation is improving in Kashmir, I think there will come a time when AFSPA (Armed Forces Special Powers Act) will not be needed. This is my opinion; the Home Ministry has to decide on it.
- Clashes between Indian and Chinese armies have been going on since May 2020. The border dispute between the two countries is still not fully resolved; however, both sides have backed down on many controversial issues.
