Pakistani military attacks police station, assaulted the police personnel

Islamabad, Pakistan – Pakistan is currently facing economic turmoil on one side, while on the other, there seems to be growing animosity between the military and the police. In this context, a video circulating on social media shows Pakistani soldiers attacking the Madarisa police station in Bhawalnagar, Punjab, assaulting local police personnel.

The police had seized illegal weapons from a soldier, leading to his arrest. Subsequently, around 45 soldiers stormed the police station, assaulting each police officer and official, causing havoc. They also vandalized the station and assaulted the senior military officer present there. Other accusations have also surfaced.

No charges filed against soldiers

The military has been accused of evading responsibility for the incident, refusing to report it to the media. Hence, it has not been aired in Pakistan. No charges have been filed in this regard. Some police officers have demanded justice from Punjab’s Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif.
