Mumbai – It has been noticed that many women have applied under the ‘Chief Minister – Ladki Bahin Yojana’ even though they do not meet the criteria. Therefore, the Ministry of Child Welfare has resumed the thorough scrutiny of the applications. In this, there is a possibility that the benefit amount received by the women who are found ineligible will be recovered along with a penalty. Therefore, many ineligible women who had applied under the ‘Chief Minister – Ladki Bahin Yojana’ are withdrawing their applications. This number is increasing day by day.
While this scheme was expected to benefit needy women, the administration has now decided to scrutinise it once again as there have been numerous instances where many ineligible women have also taken advantage of it.

Money of the sisters who enter the application in an illegal manner will be taken back! – Women and Child Welfare Minister Aditi Tatkare
In this regard, Women and Child Welfare Minister Aditi Tatkare said, “Verification of the applications received in the complaint is underway. Those dear sisters who have vehicles, have higher income limits, and are taking advantage of other schemes have returned the benefits. Thank you to those dear honest sisters! We requested that if the amount received is beyond the eligible benefit, the sister should return it. The money of the sisters who entered the application in an irregular manner will be taken back. During the application verification, we will get information about bogus applications. Beneficiaries holding yellow and orange ration cards will not be verified. Those taking advantage of other schemes will be verified. This will be taken action as per the Government decision announced initially.”
