London – General elections in the UK will be held by year end or by the beginning of next year. There has been a change in the Labour Party’s attitude towards India’s internal affairs. The opposition Labour party is trying to garner support from Britain’s Indian diaspora. Labour party chief Keir Starmer attended an event organised by ‘British-Indian think- tank 1928’ in London this week. He was joined by London’s mayor Sadiq Khan and members of his shadow cabinet to celebrate the festival of colours. In a special message to the Hindu community, he thanked Hindus for the their contribution towards UK’s prosperity.

Starmer said that the festival of Holi is an ideal opportunity to give a message of national renewal. It is believed that he was trying to convince the Indian diaspora of the Labour party’s change in attitude. In the opinion poll it has been seen that the Labour Party is ahead of the Conservative Party in the people’s opinion poll.
