Durg (Chhattisgarh) – Christians beat up Bajrang Dal activists when they alleged that Hindus were being converted in the name of prayer meeting. After getting information about this incident, the Police reached there and brought the situation under control. After a crime was registered in this matter, both parties created chaos in the Police station. This incident took place on 3rd March.
1. Bajrang Dal said that the complaints of conversion were coming from this place for several days. Conversion is being attempted in Oriya Colony in the name of prayer meetings.
2. Hundreds of people attended prayers at a church near Raipur junction. At that time members of Bajrang Dal reached there and started protesting. The Bajrang Dal activists were attacked, and stones were pelted by the Christian missionaries. People from both sides were injured during the violence. The video of this incident is circulating on social media.
3. Bajrang Dal co-convenor Ramlochan Tiwari has alleged that Christian missionaries are distributing leaflets in Hindu settlements, luring them with money and education.
4. Pastor Vinod has alleged that 15 to 20 people belonging to a Hindu organisation attacked people who were praying. Not only Christians, but people of every religion participate in this meeting.
5. Durg Police Officer Chirag Jain assured that this incident happened due to misunderstanding and legal action will be taken as per the rules.
