Indo-Pacific region more secure and prosperous, says US

Washington: The US has said that the Indo-Pacific region has become more secure and prosperous due to its Indo-Pacific strategy. On the occasion of two years of the implementation of the US Indo- Pacific strategy, Adrienne Watson, spokesperson for the US National Security Council, interacted with the media at the White House. The US also said that bilateral relations with India are progressing at an unprecedented pace.

Speaking to the media, Adrienne Watson said that the US has never been stronger in the Indo-Pacific region than it is today. In the past two years, the US has made historic progress in keeping the Indo- Pacific region prosperous, secure, and self-reliant. She thanked President Biden for his leadership in this regard. Watson said, “We have strengthened ties with Japan, the Republic of Korea, Australia, the Philippines, and Thailand. Bilateral relations with Vietnam and Indonesia have also improved. Relations with India are being developed at an unprecedented pace.”

What is the US Indo-Pacific Strategy ?

Under the Indo-Pacific strategy, the US is increasing security cooperation between various countries in the Indo-Pacific region. Military aid is being provided to various countries. Along with this, the US has also entered into strategic partnerships with India, Japan, and Australia. This policy is seen as a way to counter China and keep the Indo-Pacific region free and prosperous. After the Quad, the US is now ready to form a military alliance with Japan and South Korea. A similar alliance is also being formed between the US, Britain, and Australia.
