Substantial donations in the form of gold and silver items
Ayodhya (Uttar Pradesh) – The Shriram Temple opened its doors to the public on 23rd January following the pranapratishtha ceremony last month. In the initial 15 days, over 30 lakh devotees from across the country visited their revered Deity Shriram. During this period, the temple meticulously tallied the offerings received. 6 donation boxes within the temple and an additional 10 in the surrounding area were opened. A cumulative sum of Rs 15 crore in offerings was amassed through these boxes, as well as through other channels.
1. During the initial 15 days, the offering boxes remained unopened due to the overwhelming influx of devotees seeking the darshan of Shriramlalla. Remarkably, these boxes contained a substantial amount of gold and silver ornaments.
2. A steady average of 2 lakh devotees are visiting to seek the Divine darshan of Shriramlalla.
3. On the night of 4th February, a vigilant 15-member team, including State Bank of India employees, opened 6 donation boxes under CCTV surveillance. The collected items were securely preserved.
‘The account of donations is meticulously collected daily in the trust’s office’ – Prakash Gupta, in charge of Shriram Mandir Trust Office
In the initial two weeks following the temple’s opening, donations totalling Rs 15 crore have been received through diverse channels. Devotees are making direct offerings to the Deity, with trust employees stationed at the 10 offering boxes within the temple premises. A receipt is provided upon donation, and the accounts of these contributions are deposited daily in the Trust’s office in the evening.
