Chennai – The Union Government and Tamil Nadu Government are at loggerheads regarding the new National education policy and three languages policy. In this context Tamil Nadu Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) Government in Tamil Nadu has changed the symbol of ₹ in the State budget to Tamil symbol. In the 2025-26 budget the symbol ‘ரூ’ (₹ in Tamil script) is used instead of the ₹. Tamil Nadu government is against Hindi language.
