New Delhi – Riyaaz Ahmad Rather, who turned to terrorism after retiring from the Indian Army, has been arrested by the Delhi Police. Hailing from Kupwara, Jammu and Kashmir, Riyaaz was actively involved with the terrorist group Lashkar-e-Taiba. He played a significant role in procuring arms and ammunition from Pakistan.

He was assisted in these activities by Khurshid Ahmad Rather and Gulam Sarwar Rather, according to Police officials. Riyaaz and his friend Altaf retired from the Indian Army on 31 st January 2023. Riyaaz served in the position of Havildar.
