The case of not participating in worshiping Dr Ambedkar

Kalburgi (Karnataka) – A student was stripped naked and beaten up for not participating in Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar’s image worship. A photograph of Dr Ambedkar was given to this student and taken around the city naked. The video of the incident became viral on social media.

On 25th January some students studying in a college in Kalburgi in the hostel organised Dr Ambedkar’s puja. The victim student also lives in the same hostel. He was asked to be present for worship; but the student refused to participate due to personal reasons. Therefore, he was stripped naked, beaten up and paraded on the streets. When the Police reached there, the culprit students ran away. A case has been registered and Police are searching for the accused students.

• Students go to Schools and colleges to learn and become cultured; but if they are doing the opposite, the school and the college are responsible for it !

• The Constitution gives us freedom of thought, and teaches us to protest democratically. So if the students are disrespecting the Constitution by doing such a reprehensible act, would Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar have liked it ?
