Incident in a village in Medak District of Telangana

Sangareddy (Telangana) – In a village in the Medak District of Telangana, a religious fanatic youth insulted the saffron flag in a video and circulated it on social media. Angered by this, locals found the youth, stripped him naked, and beat him up.

They also subjected him to a punitive parade around the village while chanting ‘Jai Shriram’. Subsequently, a complaint was filed with the Police against him for hurting the religious sentiments of Hindus. The Police have registered a case against him. Additionally, after the youth filed a complaint against the villagers for beating him up, the Police also registered a case against the villagers.

As legitimate efforts fail to address the hurt religious sentiments of Hindus, and no action is taken, it is a failure of the Governments and Police if people start taking the law into their own hands. This necessitates serious consideration now. |
