Sindhi community march at Gandhinagar Police Station demanding prompt action
Gandhinagar (Dist. Kolhapur) – A 12-year-old boy who attempted to molest a 6-year-old girl on the terrace of a building was caught by the girl’s family. This incident occurred in Gandhinagar in Karveer Taluka, on the outskirts of Maharashtra’s Kolhapur city. The family handed him over to the Gandhinagar Police. Since the action against this child is delayed, the citizens of the Sindhi community raised slogans in front of the Police station. During the same period, the minor was beaten up by the Sindhi community while bringing him back after medical verification. After this, the Police had to resort to mild lathicharge to disperse the crowd.
During that time most of the shops in Gandhinagar area were closed for the whole day due to the appeal by Gandhinagar Trade Associations. Due to this, a heavy Police force was deployed in the Gandhinagar area and the Anti-riot squad was called. People of the Sindhi community were waiting in front of the Police station till late night demanding strict action against the boy. A case has been registered against the boy late night.

Due to the lack of abiding by Dharma, the morality of the society is disappearing and such incidents are occurring. Inclusion of education on Dharma in the curriculum is the only solution. |
