The Shriramlalla Idol is 51 inches tall
The Idol in the sanctum sanctorum of Shriram Temple will be Shriram’s child-form; it is 51 inches tall. Three Idols have been sculpted by 3 different sculptors. Among these, one Idol will be selected and consecrated. The remaining 2 Idols will also remain with Shriram Janmabhoomi Teerthakshetra Trust. To sculpt these Idols, huge Shaligrams were brought from the Gandaki River in Nepal. Internationally-acclaimed artist Vasudeo Kamath’s sketch was finalised for making the Idol. The small metal Idol of Shriramlalla that was worshipped for decades in the make-shift Temple will also be kept in the sanctum sanctorum. The sanctum sanctorum will be semi-circular in shape.
