Prime Minister takes darshan of Shriram at the Kalaram Temple

Nashik – PM Narendra Modi paid a visit to the historical Shri Kalaram temple and took darshan of Shriram on 12th January. He performed puja and aarti at the temple. On this occasion, on behalf of the main mahant and the trustee of Shri Kalaram Temple, PM Modi was honoured by offering a silver idol of Deity Shriram, a shawl and an auspicious coconut. The surroundings of the temple echoed with the chants of ‘Siya Var Ramachandra ki Jay’.

On this occasion the main mahant Acharya Sudhirdas Maharaj, the trustee of Shri Kalaram Temple; Dhananjay Pujari, Mangesh Pujari, Naresh Pujari, Mandar Janorkar, Eknath Kulkarni, Pandit Pranav Pujari, Advay Pujari and eminent members from the warkari sect and other saints were present. Abhang and the 8th chapter of Bhavartha Ramayan (in which, Shriram’s stay at Nashik is mentioned), were read in PM Modi’s presence. Modi had a conversation with Mahant, warkaris and descendants of the saint family, on the temple premises. Modi garlanded the statue of Swami Vivekanand, situated in the temple premises.
