Nashik – “It is the responsibility of the youth to keep democracy alive in the country. One can serve the nation even through the medium of politics. The greater the participation of youth in democracy, the better will be the future of our nation. Participation of youth will dilute dynasty politics. Dynastic politics has caused immense harm to the country. Youth should shoulder the responsibility of the nation’s progress through the medium of politics,” appealed Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the 27th National Youth Festival, organised here by the Sports and Youth Department of the Union and State Governments, on 12th January. During his visit to Nashik, Modi also paid a visit to Shri Kalaram Temple before addressing the youth community. Notable figures like Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Ministers Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar were also present at the event.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi further said,
1. When I engage with world leaders, I see great hope within them. One reason for hope and aspiration is democracy. India is the mother of democracy. The important responsibility of taking India to new heights rests on the shoulders of the youth. It is because of their strength that today the Indian economy is included in the top 5 economies of the world. I have a lot of faith in today’s young generation.
2. The young generation of India is the brand ambassador of Ayurveda. If you ask your grandparents, they will tell you that during their time, food consisted of bajra roti, kodo-kutki, ragi-jowar. It was the mentality of slavery which connected this food to poverty and found its way out of Indian kitchens. The Government has given a new identity to millets and coarse grains as superfoods, thereby making a comeback in Indian households as ‘Shree Anna’. Now you have to become the brand ambassador of ‘Shree Anna’. Your health will also improve with food grains and small farmers of the country will also benefit.
3. There is another important aspect of cooperation in democracy. You have to express your opinion through voting. Voters who vote can bring new energy to our democracy. The current period is the age of India’s youth power. I am fortunate to be in Nashik on the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda. The responsibility of steering India to greater heights rests on the shoulders of the youth. The Government has provided various opportunities to the youth in the last 10 years. The youth should take the country forward with that strength. I firmly believe that they will do it with full vigour.

Give your efforts there. Today, I also got an opportunity to visit Shri Kalaram Temple and give my efforts for its cleanliness.”
