4000 workers are working 24 hours

Ayodhya (Uttar Pradesh) – Champat Rai of Shriram Janmabhoomi Tirth Kshetra Trust recently informed the press about the Shriram temple. He said that an idol of a 5-year-old Shriram would be installed. As it is Shriram’s childhood idol, there will be no idol of Mother Sita in the temple. Currently, the second floor of the three-storeyed Shriram temple is under construction. The ground floor has been completed and 80% of the first floor has also been completed. Just 30% of the 70-acre property is under construction.

Some significant points mentioned by Rai –

The main temple will be 360 feet long and 235 feet wide. The height of the temple will be 161 feet at its peak. There will be 18 doors on the ground floor, out of which 14 doors will be gold plated. 7 more temples are being constructed in the complex. These include the temples of Shriram’s Guru Sage Vasishtha, Sage Vishwamitra, Sage Valmiki, Sage Agastya, Shriram’s devotee Kevat, Nishadraj and Shabari. Construction of these temples will be completed by the end of 2024.

The path to be taken for Shriram Lalla’s darshan

The entrance to the temple will be through the lion door in the east. After climbing 32 steps from the lion door, one reaches the Rang Mandap. The walls here are carved with pictures and characters related to the life of Shriram. After the Rang Mandap, there will be a Nritya Mandap. Here, idols of Deities and verses from the Ramayana will be carved beautifully on the stones. Further ahead is the sanctum sanctorum of Shriram Lalla. Here on 22nd January 2024, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will perform the consecration of Shriram Lalla’s idol.

No building like the Shriram temple has been built in North India in the last 2 centuries

No construction has been done like the Shriram temple in North India in the last 2 centuries. The walls of the temple which are under construction, are unique to North India, as such walls are found only in the South Indian temples of Kerala and Tamil Nadu. The construction is currently in progress and will take another 6 months to reach completion. The parks of this temple will have lifts for the elderly and disabled.
