Scientific research conducted by Maharshi Adhyatma Vishwavidyala states that ‘Women derive spiritual benefit by applying kumkum (vermilion) on the forehead’

Kumkum (vermilion) is a symbol of purity and auspiciousness. Kumkum has the ability of absorbing and emitting Chaitanya (Divine consciousness) from a Deity. Women should apply kumkum on their forehead with the ring finger. Scientific research was conducted using the Universal Aura Scanner on ‘How women are spiritually benefited by applying kumkum’.

The Universal Aura Scanner (UAS) was developed in 2005 by Dr. Mannem Murthy, a former nuclear scientist from Telengana. By using this instrument the energy and the aura of an object, a premises, an animal or an individual can be measured.

The interpretation and analysis of the observations in this study are given ahead.

1. Analysis of the readings from the study : In this study, UAS readings of 2 lady seekers with spiritual distress and 2 lady seekers without spiritual distress were taken before and after applying kumkum.

1 A. By application of kumkum on the forehead, lady seekers  with and without spiritual distress were positively benefited : This becomes apparent from the table given ahead.

Inferences from the above table

1. There is absolutely no negative energy aura in the sample of kumkum, but there is lot of positive energy in it.

2. After the two lady seekers with spiritual distress, applied kumkum their negative energy either reduced or got nullified and their positive energy increased.

3. No negative energy was found in the lady seekers with no spiritual distress. After applying kumkum the positive energy in these two lady seekers increased to a great extent.

2. Conclusion : Women derive spiritual benefit by applying kumkum on their forehead.

3. Spiritual analysis of the readings from the study

3 A. Application of kumkum by women gives protection from negative energies due to the creation of a protective covering around them : The Divine consciousness (Chaitanya) emitted from kumkum prevents negative energies from entering the body through the Adnya-chakra. Kumkum when applied to the forehead creates a protective covering around the woman, thus protecting them from negative energies.

3 B. Due to the Chaitanya in the kumkum, the negative energy of the lady seekers with spiritual distress reduced or was nullified and their positive energy increased : After applying kumkum on their forehead, both the lady seekers imbibed Chaitanya. Therefore, the covering of negative vibrations around them either reduced or got nullified and their sattvikta increased.

3 C. Due to the Chaitanya in the kumkum, the positive energy of the lady seekers with no spiritual distress increased to a great extent : Due to applying kumkum on the forehead, the lady seekers not having spiritual distress imbibed Chaitanya. Therefore, their sattvikta increased to a large extent.

From this, it can be derived that women are spiritually benefited by applying kumkum on their forehead.
