Bengaluru (Karnataka) – 15 private schools in Bengaluru simultaneously received bomb threats via anonymous e-mails on 1st December. It claimed that bombs were planted in schools. After the schools informed the Police about this, the Police evacuated the students and began the search operation. The bomb disposal squad reached the spot, but nothing was found. The e-mail sent to these schools read, ‘You have a choice to become our slaves or embrace the true religion of Allah. We will spread the true religion of Allah across India. Embrace Islam or get your neck cut off by the sword of Islam. When we meet the infidels, we will cut off their heads and fingers’.
1. The e-mail further stated that on 26th November, martyrs who followed the path of Allah killed hundreds of Idol worshippers. Attacking the infidels with a knife in one’s own hand is a truly powerful experience. Hundreds of Mujahideen are going to the battlefield to become martyrs following the path of Allah. You are enemies of Allah and we will kill you and your children.
2. Interestingly, 15 schools in Bengaluru received a similar e-mail in 2022 as well. In this e-mail, the threat was given that explosives were planted on the school premises. Following this, the Police team thoroughly investigated these schools, but nothing was found anywhere. Later it came to know that it was a prank by some psychopaths.
3. About the current threat, Bengaluru Police said that all the schools are in different parts of the city. Nothing suspicious was found. The parents of the students came to pick up their children as soon as they learnt about the bomb threat. This created a tense situation. Last year, 7 schools in Bengaluru received similar threats, but those too turned out to be a hoax.
4. Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar went to the school and took stock of the situation after receiving information about the threat. He said that he was scared after watching the news about bombs in the school on television. Some of the schools that have received threats are in the vicinity of my home. The Police have shown me the e-mail. It looks fake. Some miscreants must have done this. We will catch them within 24 hours.
